Nothing you can buy, but I find with ds that it really helps to have lots of steam, so either put on a steam sterilizer without the lid if you have it, or take him into the bathroom with hot water running.

notnowbernard · 11/10/2007 14:24

Medised (can be good at night as is sedating)

loopylou6 · 11/10/2007 14:24

there is a childs sudafed liquid that is very good, (may have trouble getting him to take it coz it dont taste the best) the medecine will clear his nose and also drag the mucous up have recently bought the same for my dd whow as also a snot bag LOL

Washersaurus · 11/10/2007 14:34

I swear by 'Tixylix Cough & Cold medicine' it dries up the snot and soothes the cough...absolutely fantastic stuff!

Washersaurus · 11/10/2007 14:34

Oh and my DS loves its Raspberry flavour

madamez · 11/10/2007 23:13

I find the Tixylix and Benelin about the same (and at lest DS is a good boy about taking medecine). Might try the steam if he has a bad night, thanks all.

MEDISED

Raise the bed

Get a vapouriser. Have them in Argos or Boots.

karvol capsules or Olbas Oil

Sudafed plug ins are VERY good.

We do all of these when ds is poorly.

kidsrus · 14/10/2007 19:54

pruners don't forget the half of onion under the bed too

gigglewitch · 14/10/2007 21:25

onion ? ? ?

Elasticwoman · 14/10/2007 21:41

I recommend water and plenty of it. Those sports bottles of still spring water are handy. Agree with whoever said raise the head (I do this with pillows).

Also, have you tried Karvol? You get it from the chemist and you empty the little capsule on a hanky or something and tie it to the bed/cot so that ds breathes in the aroma. Helps a lot with congestion.

Elasticwoman · 14/10/2007 21:42

Sorry gigglewitch I see you already recommended karvol.

kidsrus · 14/10/2007 21:42

yes giggle an onion they reckon it helps WitH the breathing

boolepew · 14/10/2007 21:45

Medised and Vicks rubbed onto throat/chest.
