Phoned the doctor a week ago and she asked me some questions over the phone and diagnosed me with asthma and gave me an inhaler to try for 2 weeks. In truth, it has helped a bit but I am still coughing and can feel and hear crackles in my lungs.
I'm not feeling ill as such (was a bit fevered in the beginning) but feel very tired and run down. I have coughed up green phlegm on a couple of occasions but it is mostly clear and it does seem to be set off mainly by cold air, dust, cigarette smoke, pets. I do get affected a bit by pollen, the cold and dust but not to the extent that I am now.
I'm not really sure how they can tell if I have asthma or a chest infection without examining me and listening to my chest, to be honest. I'm speaking with her again next week. She did mention a chest X-ray if it hasn't cleared up. It's not COVID because I had a negative test result soon after the symptoms started. Oddly, no one else in the house has caught this either.
