Insomnia

Hi,

I couldn’t find a specific Sleep Topic, so thought this was the most relevant group to post in.
For the past 6 weeks I have been suffering from insomnia, to the point I’m averaging anything from 3.5 hours and 5 hours of sleep a night, so I’m getting pretty drained.
Does anyone have any tips? I was thinking of trying some sleeping remedies but don’t want to become reliant on their use. I go to bed at a consistent time, although quite late, so my routine is normal.
I don’t want it to become too much of a problem and affect my ability
to function during the day.

Thanks for any replies!

You could try with something OTC like Nytol to start with. Don’t know whether you have any new worries or problems which would affect your sleep.

Have a look at Sleepstation website, useful info and 6 week course

Sleep Station is only for England.

I am suffering with this at the minute too, but I am 36 weeks pregnant. For me, 5 hours is a good night. Some nights I dont sleep for a single minute, and I have a toddler to run around after! Its utter shit.

As I cant take anything, I try to relax before bed, so minimal phone time, only look at calm things on tv after 9pm, and if I cant sleep I get up after 30 mins or so and go downstairs so I am not fuming listening to DH snore. Then I try to watch something mind numbing, or listen to meditation music, and try again to sleep in an hour or so.
