Pain behind eye/headaches every single day

Can anyone help me with what this could be?
I have a near constant niggly pain around. My left temple.
Every day mid morning I can a severe pain starting behind my left eye ball and radiating into my forehead, temple and cheekbone under my eye. It lasts about 30-40 minutes although goes off quicker if I take painkillers.
If I don’t take painkillers these waves of severe pains come and go all day with the inbetween niggly pain getting stronger and turning into a horrible background headache.
Any ideas?
I don’t want to take more and more painkillers every day.
It’s so horrible and I’m exhausted from it!

It might be a sinus infection. See your GP about it. I get one or two a year and they clear up nicely with Augmentin.

Are you under a lot of stress ?

I forgot to say I’ve had an mri and nothing showed up. So that rules out sinus issues.
I’m a bit stressed but mainly the stress is caused by the pain so that’s a bit of a vicious circle!

Hmm I had a one sided migraine for a few months which coincided with my period so was classed as hormonal. I'd not had them before but I was very very stressed so that may have made it worse, along with increased staring at the laptop screen due to working from home. I also had an eye test which also showed a change in my prescription so that could have been a contributing factor too. It's so good that your MRI didn't show anything though. Perhaps something like that is a contributing factor?

Have you had your eyes tested recently? I get eye strain which can present as eye and head ache. Might be worth a check?

I've had something very similar recently, someone suggested cluster headaches and when I looked them up they seemed to fit the bill. Maybe give them a google.

Sorry to hear you are in pain OP. Strangely, I had exactly what you describe a couple of months ago but mine got more severe at night time and came on almost like clockwork every day. I was a bit worried about it, but my GP wasn't. It did go away after a couple of weeks so I am wondering it if might have been stress or something to do with my sinuses. Painkiller and forehead (the cooling stick) helped mine.

Could be migraine. There’s a specific migraine medication. Might be worth trying. Might also be cluster headaches.

Have you tried a cold pack or wet cloth on it, in the meantime? Or that forehead stick thing.
