My Dh has always had a few pilar cysts on his scalp(confirmed as pilar cysts by gp)however overvthe years these have rapidly multiplied and increased in size to the point they are poking out through his hair like mini mountain.we visited the gp who didn't really know much about them and said if my husband wanted them removed hed have scars and hair wouldn't regrow so hed have lots of bald spots everywhere.he has 20 cysts, really prominent. Has anyone any experience with these and treatment, its really getting him down and he feels embarrassed and doesnt want to go back to the gp without a plan of what he can request
Thanks all

Dr pimple popper is a dermatologist and removes these without shaving hair on the head. Could you afford to pay for it yourself?

I'd have a go at them myself.
Obviously not recommended, but I'm not sure the NHS still remove benign lumps and bumps.

No dont do it yourself. You would need numbing, a scalpel and a way of removing the cyst sac after emptying the contents. It needs a professional to do it safely

Would the gp refer to a dermatologist?
