Flucloxacillin

I have a burn on my hand and the skin around it is infected, so I was given flucloxacillin by the nurse-practitioner last night.

It's making me feel really sick and I'm struggling to eat. I'm taking it an hour at least before food. I remember taking it a few years ago for mastitis and ending up on IV antibiotics; does this suggest that maybe they don't work for me?

Any advice appreciated! Perhaps there's a similar antibiotic that the GP can prescribe?

It doesn’t suggest they don’t work (against infection), but that antib can cause bad stomach upset. I had it for an infection and was in a lot of pain. Yes, do phone the Gp, they can prescribe a different one.

Thanks @MagpieSong, I've got to get the wound re-dressed tomorrow so I'll book an appointment with the GP. I can't spend all week feeling sick.

Welcome Grin I remember being terrified I’d have to be in agony over Christmas while I was on it! It was such a relief to switch to a different one!
