Gout???

I'm 34 and the last 48 hours I have had an incredibly itchy second toe but inside the toe, no rash/bite/skin infection etc nothing on the outside. It's the worst itch I've even felt and feels like it's the bone. I've rubbed it so much I've taken the top layer of skin off.

There is now swelling around the joint.

Dr Google (famous for being right) suggested gout but I'm 34 years old, 12.6st and I gave birth 20 months ago

Is this possible or does anyone else have an idea whilst I resist the temptation to cut it off until I see a dr in the morning

Could it be a chilblaine. Gout is incredibly painful to the point you can't stand even the sheet touching it, but it sounds like you have itching and no pain.

Oh it's painful too but I looked up chilblains and I have no redness and haven't been anywhere cold

I spent the night with a cool flannel on it sticking out the bed lol

Gout is awful, DS has it. When it flares up it's extremely painful. You can hear him coming to the refrain of ouch, ouch ,ouch. As far as I can tell there's no itching.Could it be athletes foot that's itchy turning to pain?

There's no external rash or anything save where I've rubbed the skin off through shear pain and itching. It's all centred in the joint of the second toe :(

Do you have an antihistamine! It may be a mild athlete s foot

It sounds like its definitely gout. A doctor will be able to do a blood test to confirm it.
