Hi since yesterday afternoon I've had this burning intense pain under my boobs but more the top of my stomach upper abdominal. Tried to sleep it off it hasn't worked. What can I take to ease this? It's so painful to bend over and sometimes breathing out hurts. Came on suddenly and shows no sign of going on it's own. Confused

Gallstones. That is my bet. I had my gallbladder out in April.

Is it to the left, the right, in the centre under breastbone, or all over?

SoddingWeddings · 22/09/2020 09:22

Have you tried taking heartburn remedies to eliminate that?

pinkpetal2 · 22/09/2020 10:10

In the centre I'll try heartburn stuff. It's very irritating. I was getting similar pain on my left side at the bottom of my abdomen two eeeks ago randomly, so the doctor sent me for a ct scan and couldn't see any issues, so no idea what is going on. Hopefully just heartburn then 🤦🏽‍♀️

Did the CT check your heart? Have you had any bloods done?

pinkpetal2 · 22/09/2020 11:48

I don't think so no I think it was just aimed at my lower half

Yes I believe I had my bloods checked for everything they took lots of different vials but everything was ok

I get this a lot, lasts for days.
GP has diagnosed acid reflux and I've now got medication which seems to be helping!

I'm going to ask for some I've just had two of those gaviscon tablets and they haven't kicked in yet.

You might need a different sort of indigestion medicine. I take a PPI which reduces acid production. It takes a few days to work.

SoddingWeddings · 23/09/2020 09:12

Rather than the tablets, I find the liquid although repulsive, more effective.

Heartburn is awful. I had it during pregnancy and the pain was so sudden and intense. If gaviscon doesn't work, try apple cider vinegar. Sleeping with an extra pillow also helps the acid go back into your stomach where it belongs rather than creeping up your throat when you are laying down flat.

I keep getting this In bouts it's really annoying I never used to get it really Unless I was pregnant. I'm defo not!

If you could cry with pain, are feeling sick and would actually be willing to hurt yourself more than the pain then it's probably Gaul stones. I would fill a cup with boiling water and put it on my upper stomach. The pain of the boiling water still made the pain in my stomach hurt less.

It's not that bad it's just burning it goes away for a few days, then it's back again just quite sore like if I was to breathe in deeply or stand up it feels like air stuck in acid at the top of my tummy.
