In your experience- how long for bugs to be passed between siblings?

I know it's a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question, but dd1 (6) has had a horrible sickness bug since yesterday afternoon, sick all rest of day and all night and feeling very nauseous today. Dd2 is 2 on Weds and hasn't shown any sign at all of this bug as yet. I had such a shocking night, very little sleep and I really don't want dd2 to get this, esp with her b'day on weds. Is there any chance she won't get it do you think? Dh and I felt vaguely nauseous last night but it came to nothing today. Dd2 hs been full of beans today and tonight.

There is a possibility she won't get it. Sickness bugs don't always hit everyone in our family.
Have you planned invited lots of people on Wednesday?
If not and she is sick on Wednesday, just celebrate her birthday on a different day. She won't know it's not her real birthay!

Not a big celebration as such, no, but it's my day off, dh has taken the day off and we were meeting her godmother for lunch then having family tea, etc. She's still fine today, but dd1's still ropey so looks like tomorrow might not be as planned anyway! Dd1's been sooooo poorly - really hope dd2 doesn't get it

so how'd it go?

Moomin · 10/10/2007 21:50

Ta for asking

Dd2 has caught a cold but luckily no bug.... so far.....!! Dd1 has been completely wiped out - still not going to school tomorrow so that's 4 days off! She even had a nap this morning for an hour, poor thing.

Dd2 had a lovely birthday - 2 years old - can't believe it!
