Really painful spots “down there”.

WaffleDogg20 · 17/09/2020 21:33

I have no idea where to post this.

But since July Iv had really painful boils/cysts on in between my buttocks, they pop and then go away and return a week or so later, always in the same place. It hurts to wipe, sit and walk.

Iv had a new one pop up and it’s right on my epsiotomy scar tissue and it’s so painful. It’s like w white spot. It’s definitely not an STI lol.

It hurts so much 🙈😩

Circled where the spots have been 🙈

Are you sure it isn't herpes? It sounds like it. Herpes can lay dormant for many many years and pregnancy/birth can make it flare up.

Savoretti · 17/09/2020 21:35

Also immediately thought herpes from your description

It doesn't sound anything like herpes Confused. There is something called HS (I can't spell the elongated version) or it could be simple infected hair follicles. Despite it not sounding like an STI the best thing to do would be to go to a sexual health clinic because they are experts in nether regions.

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/09/2020 21:39

You really need to see a doctor if you are getting recurrent cysts, boils or abscesses in this area. Lots of possible causes (including diabetes!)

Don't be embarrassed - the doctor will have seen it all before and you can't go on like this Flowers

BunnyLovesBananas · 17/09/2020 21:41

I had a couple of boils recently not quite as in there but on my bikini line area, one one one side and then later one on the other

Quite painful when rubbed against with my jeans.

I read hot baths helped

Someone said it come be staffs / staphs? Hmm

We are moving this to the General Health topic area.

Doctor as soon as possible.
I am not trying to be alarmist but I met a woman in hospital last year who had a spot on her vulva that wouldn't go away for months.
Eventually got referred to a consultant by her doctor and it was cancer. She had just had her operation when I met her and her prognosis was good.
But if she had been too embarrassed to keep going back to the GP it would have been a different story.

WaffleDogg20 · 17/09/2020 21:49

It’s 100% not herpes. I had an sti test many years ago before I met my husband who was a virgin. He hasn’t cheated and nor have I.

Thank you, will get a doctors appointment

I think it’s to do with my pants rubbing/hot weather. It started in July and it went away for a few weeks and then two days ago I went out while it was hot and my pants rubbed and it’s came back.

Definitely not herpes! Look at this page, see if it fits. www.nhs.uk/conditions/hidradenitis-suppurativa/

doesthatmakesense · 17/09/2020 21:58

Could be a bacterial overgrowth issue. After GP gave me third prescription in 2 years for nasal staph infection I put 2 and 2 together and figured I probably had a tendency to staph colonisation when I was under the weather.

I tackled my long term issues of a similar nature by buying a stack of cheap ikea towels for showering, changing them daily, and changing into (cotton) nighttime pants under pj's- less washing than changing pj bottoms daily. No anti-bac or artificial fragrances ever in body soaps etc, Over on sporner corner you will find many advocates of hot baths, various lotions and potions. But skin microbiome is the first and most important thing to fix imvho: it will usually fix itself if you take away aggravating factors.

Sound like furuncles which I suffered from as an adolescent. I had painful boil like blisters all down the back of my legs and groin area. The doctor prescribed antibiotics and they cleared up. I suffered for months with them.

Princessbanana · 17/09/2020 22:15

Bartholin cysts. I got one, it’s was so sore but antibiotics took it away and I’m praying it doesn’t come back. There is a gland where you are getting them that can sometimes get blocked. Did the crease of your leg also become sore higher up?

Princessbanana · 17/09/2020 22:17

Although looking at you picture again, you may just be unlucky and they could be abscesses. I would go to the doctors as soon as and he will give you pain relief and antibiotics. Let me know how you get on.💐

MandosHatHair · 17/09/2020 22:20

They don't test for herpes during an STI check as most people would test positive because they get it around thier mouth.

As a PP said it can lie dormant for many years, or if your husband gets oral herpes you could have caught it from oral sex (it's contagious just before sores appear)

Whatever they are, you definately need to see a doctor Flowers

ShiteheadRevisited · 17/09/2020 22:21

I have Hidradenitis Supportiva (HS) and it's exactly as what you have described. It appeared about 3 years ago and gradually got worse - I got a diagnosis at the start of this year. There's no cure, it's just about management which for me is a daily antibiotic (creams did nothing). It calms it down a bit but I suffer flare ups regularly (especially during my period; apparently it is linked with hormonal changes). It's itchy, painful, embarrassing and makes me miserable Sad
I'm sorry you are suffering too - please do see your GP as best to get sorted sooner rather than later.

WaffleDogg20 · 17/09/2020 22:25

My god Iv just looked down there. I really don’t like looking, it looks like a car crash and I have a lot of scar tissue.

But it’s on my right Side very close to the entrance, it’s like a white head but painful to touch. I have another boil brewing abit further down too where they have been. I also have a lump more inside, it doesn’t hurt but it looks and feels awful.

I’m never having sex again. I feel disgusting and sore.

For those here with HS, I found laser hair removal in the affected area really helped Flowers

1990s · 17/09/2020 22:27

There will be help for your OP. Get to a sexual health clinic, and if they can't help a dermatologist. So sorry you're having to deal with this.

WaffleDogg20 · 18/09/2020 10:52

Thanks all, I’m
Going to get a doctors appointment. It’s so sore when I wee or wipe. It’s like a really small whitehead but nothing in it on the inner vulva. I think I have that HS as Iv had boils on my buttocks for the last few months keep coming and going.

OP posts:
jellybeanbonbon · 18/09/2020 10:56

They don’t test for herpes during STD tests, even the ‘full screening’ ones.

Also herpes can be passed on from a virgin as it’s commonly transmitted orally from someone having a cold sore.

Not saying it is herpes but just thought it was good to put the info out there, I think herpes being misunderstood is part of the reason most people with it are unaware.

Hope you get it sorted.
