Hi all ,

I was wondering if anyone has had any growths on there tonsils and what they were like?

I have had one on mine for a while now , doctors have previously said it's nothing now I have a urgent 2 week ref to ENT ! I've googled and worked myself into a tizz over here.

Any help would be appreciated Smile

I had one earlier this year. The GP wasn’t sure what it was and put me on the “2 week pathway” I was terrified. I saw an ENT consultant who examined it thoroughly via nasal endoscopy and assured me that it was nothing to worry about. (The nasal endoscopy was quick and easy, he did it there & then and despite being a huge wuss, I’d happily have another as it just tickled). Good luck 👍

I had a white patch on the side of my tongue near the back. 2 week pathway. Tonsil tissue which is perfectly normal on the side of your tongue. It was white because it sometimes happens post viral and is nothing to worry about.

There is almost always a number of other less serious things these things are way more likely to be rather than cancer. Try not to worry too much.

@Dotinthecity thank you for sharing that with me. It's the unknown and wait that's the worse bit . Google does suggest it may be sinister from the look of it however I need to stay off there. I guess positive I've had it for a long time and it's not changed at all !

@wafflyversatile
Thank you , I'm really trying not to worry !
