Any dentists around?

I had my front tooth and the one next to it extracted almost 3 weeks ago. The plan was to put in a denture for the gap. The "wound " is totally healed.

Anyway the dentist practice called me said i wouldn't be able to see my own dentist as he is quaranteening but i can see a different dentist instead who will do it.

Its been tough managing without it as i cant bite on my front teeth. The remaining front tooth desperately needs a filling as it might break. I also cant talk normally.

So i go to this dentist today. And she basically refuses to do the treatment. She said if a dentist pulls the teeth they must be the ones to do the denture. I explained i was struggling to eat and she did not care.

So now i need to wait 2 more weeks to see my own dentist then another 2 weeks for the thing to be made. So I'll be unable to eat properly for 2 months.

Is this the normal practice in nhs dentists?

Sorry for going on , im a bit upset. And yes i know im lucky to get nhs dentist care.
