Recurrent pulling/pulled muscle sensation, lower abdomen

I've had this for ages. It's not a pain, more a tightness/pulling across my lower abdomen, in the same place you'd feel period cramps. It's not all the time, just every now and then. If I stand up too quickly, I sometimes pull a muscle there and have to bend over for a few seconds til it passes. The same if I'm laying down and I cough.

I'm not explaining it well - does anyone know what I mean?? Could it just be weakness after having had 2 kids (youngest is 7) - or something to do with when I'm ovulating (although it's in the middle of my abdomen, not to either side)?

How long? Could you be pregnant?

Stressingismyhobby · 13/09/2020 11:04

Oooh, noooo, not preggers. Long as in I can't even remember when it started - months/years.

I get this too OP, ultrasound shows nothing untoward so I think it's just muscle cramping, I get it in my toes randomly too.. Its definitely worse if I'm dehydrated..

Stressingismyhobby · 13/09/2020 11:29

That's good to know @notanotherpothole I'm wondering if I'm noticing it more today as I've got a heavy cold and am generally a bit achey? Just occurred to me after having it on and off all this time that it's a bit odd.

Have you had any issues with polycystic ovaries? This is how an outbreak starts ime.

You'll need an ultrasound scan to check them, so best to book in with your GP.

Hernia?

Stressingismyhobby · 13/09/2020 13:27

Never had PCO as far as I know. And re a hernia, wouldn't that hurt?

You could track it on the calendar and see does it correlate with ovulation time.

Stressingismyhobby · 13/09/2020 16:01

That's a good idea. I've never really paid much attention to it before - think I've noticed it the past couple of days because I'm feeling a bit achey with my cold. I have noticed a lot of mucus discharge too so that would point to ovulation, wouldn't it?

@Stressingismyhobby just wondered if you ever got to the bottom.of what was causing your pain?
I've had pulled muscle/muscle cramps in lower abdomen for months now, it often comes and goes and worse at times.
