I’m genuinely at a loss!
I will try and condense this story into a more readable format but include the important details!
I fell badly and broke my leg during my Christmas party November 30th . My OH drove me to A&E and we were waiting there 11 hours with just paracetamol in agony. When we were eventually seen the doctors confirmed I had broken my leg and my ankle in 3 places after the wait I was too swollen to operate on and I had to wait 10 days meaning a total of 2 weeks in hospital leaving with plates and screws fitted.
Whilst it was healing there was nothing to note apart from the bones taking longer to fuse than normal.
When they took the cast off all seemed normal until I started experiencing a crunching and grinding sensation in my leg . I have mentioned this at all my appointments and I had been fobbed off every time.
I have seen a few doctors at the hospital and a physiotherapists in this time and they all have no hesitation in telling me it should be better and back to normal by now yet nobody seems to be helping me.
At one point I was informed that one of the screws holding my ankle together has snapped an the conversations changed from talking about my leg healing or getting better to talking about improving my quality of life.
Fast forward to now nearly a year later and I am still suffering with it. I can barely walk and the pain and swelling still hasn’t got any better. I can’t work as I have a very physical job .
I am totally lost as to what to do. I feel that this has totally ruined my life and that nobody is taking me seriously all I keep hearing is it should be better by now. I feel like a shadow of my former self.
Any advice greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance

Can your work refer you to occupational health or a private doctor? So sorry, it sounds miserable Thanks

This sounds like negligence. Could you consult a solicitor who deals in medical malpractice for a one off session ( I know there will be cost involved) but it sounds like you could do with some professional advice. The doctor's can't ignore your concerns ☹️. Good luck.

Ring your GP surgery and ask to speak to a Doctor and tell him you want to be referred for an x ray. I think you need to start being a "nuisance" and not let the Drs fob you off. Sometimes it's the only way to get people to listen to you.
