I suspect my dd has it. Do i need to take her to the gp? Is there anything i can give her other than nurofen etc? And if my other dd gets it are we ok to fly next Monday? Dd's are 3 and 1 btw.

many thanks

my ds had this last year and they didnt give him anything just told me to give him pain relief...i dont know about the flying situation you might be better if you ring the nhs helpline

fawkeoff · 07/10/2007 10:08

and obviously you need to keep them to their own cups, plates cutlery, towels etc etc

Tutter · 07/10/2007 10:10

can be mild, can be severe

ds1 had it a year or so ago and was very poorly - i kept him away from other childrten as he was so ill. blisters in his mouth meant he wouldn't eat or drink and couldn't use a dummy to comfort himself

calpol only iirc

but a friend's ds had it only mildly

I gave my dd plenty of ice cream when she had hand foot and mouth, anything else was too painful for her.
