Question about colostomy or ileostomy

Hi, this is a question for those with experience of a stoma.

What clothes should I take to hospital to come home in after surgery?

Leggings with long top? Jeans? Loose jersey dress with wooly tights?

At the moment I don't know which 'ostomy' I'll be having.

Thanks!

It's looking more like ileostomy out of the two.

When a friend of mine had surgery she found leggings and a long top the easiest and most comfortable.

Oh sorry, should also wish you all the best and hope all goes well for you. Flowers

Best to avoid anything with a tight waist band. I didn't have a colostomy, but after having half my colon removed, I needed a larger size of knickers and tights and was recommended to wear a drawstring waist so I could adjust it. I was only really comfortable in pyjamas until the swelling in my abdomen had gone down. But I had open surgery.

I'd say a high-waisted dress over loose waisted leggings or tracksuit/leisure wear in material with some give in it. Not jeans.

Good luck!

Really helpful, thank you both. I'm thinking I'll pack something like this.

For footwear, I don't have any slip on shoes. I have flat ankle boots with side zips, so I hope I'll be able to reach them. Shock
