Painful ovaries and major bloating

In Feb I was admitted to hospital for suspected appendicitis - I've never experienced such pain, I couldn't sit, walk or lay down. The pain eased as soon as it came on and whole thing lasted about 3h, but I felt bruised and walked funny for a few days afterwards. It wasn't appendicitis - CT scan revealed not much really apart from a corpus luteum that looked normal. I'm still baffled about what caused all that pain, doctors seemed to think it was just the CL, or it could have been a small cyst that burst.

Anyway, since then I've not had a normal cycle. My cycles have always been around 31 days but now sometimes they are 24, sometimes 35. I get severe ovulation pain and extreme bloating that only seems to be getting worse, I actually have to sleep with a pregnancy pillow to get comfortable. My tummy is huge and bloated and I look pregnant - infact a few times I've had to take pregnancy tests because of all the bloating and the sore boobs lasting for weeks. My periods are heavier than they used to be and extremely painful for the first day or so - or they can be randomly light and barely anything. Sometimes I have pelvic pain for the entirety of my cycle - it almost feels like a stitch and its always in my left side.

I saw my GP again in April who says its definitely something going on with my left ovary, probably a cyst. I have had my ultrasounds cancelled twice due to covid, much to my anger. I finally have my scan date tomorrow morning, but I just wanted to post to see if anyone has experienced similar.

Forgot to add - I'm bloated all the time but moreso around ovulation, and then I am so bloated it hurts under my ribs and feels like they are being pushed on like pregnancy. (I have a 2yo DS)

Sorry not much advice but do know that Endometriosis can cause really painful ovulation. Could you google and see if this sounds similiar?

Thanks for your reply @cosmo30 I have read about endometriosis but I'm not sure I have it mainly because my periods aren't that painful, they are sore for 1/2 days but managable. I don't have any pain during sex or after either. I appreciate the suggestion, and will push for investigations if nothing shows up on the scan tomorrow (assuming endo won't as I think you need a lap for that)
