Rash caused by viral infection???? contagious??

On Friday the doc has said my DD had a viral infection - she had headache, high temp, head to toe rash.

She is fine now and the rash is fading, almost gone, but do I send her to school tomorrow? Are viral infections contagious - some say no but then isn't chicken pox viral? Am confused.

Anyone know?

As far as I know viruses are infectious. Isn't the common cold a virus? The thing is that viruses can't be treated with antibiotics. But it sounds as though she's on the mend so she probably isn't contagious anymore. If she's feeling up to it I would send her tomorrow. I'm sure the doc would have said if she needed to be off for a specific length of time.

Cheers for that Kate
