Painful aching toes

Hi,

I have had painful, super sensitive toes for over a year now. I did see the GP after it had been going on for a few months and they guessed it was chilblains. I have not redness or broken skin on my toes though just a persistent ache that sometimes get worse and can make it so that the sheets brushing my toes at night can keep me awake. It's just the toes, the rest of my foot is fine.

I have been tested for diabetes and it isn't stopping me walking around it's just an annoying background pain that sometimes needs painkillers at night.

Any one else had anything similar? I'm sitting at my desk just now and I am aware of my feet aching. I'm fed up with it.

Have you had a full blood count. Various deficiencies can lead to joint issues and pains and sensitivity. B12, D and C that I know of can all cause problems like that.

I know doctor google isn't always the best but it can be useful if you are not a catastrophiser - and it doesn't sound like it's a major symptom of anything serious anyway.

I had this and it was vitamin D deficiency

My rt big toe and the top of my foot have this very same feeling, a stiff achey but hypersensitive sensation. Had it since May. When it first started I had bad rt sided lower backache radiating down my leg as well. Over the phone my Gp said it sounded like a disc issue (apparently sciatica can present in the foot/toes too ) and put me on pregabalin which has helped but I still get breakthrough discomfort by the time I’m due my nighttime dose. Physio offered me an mri but suggested it wouldn’t change treatment and wasn’t worth it so I decided against it. Regret it now..
I’m completely fed up too.

Thanks for the replies.

I had the usual slew of blood tests which I absolutely hate. I have a phobia but I did it.

I have been Vit D deficient before so it won't do me harm to take more.

Sorry to hear you are in discomfort too @katharinablum
