Perforated (sp) eardrum 18 months ago still not right.

If I put my head under water, I can feel and hear water rush in, then end up with earache for 2 days, can something be done?

Meant to add, I went on a 4 hour flight with a perforated eardrum, plus ear infection, not recommended I know.
