Bleeding after sex

Mvshrln · 31/08/2020 01:21

Last time I had sex, I went to the toilet after and all was fine. Fell asleep for a few hours then went to the toilet again and there was pinky blood when I wiped.

My most recent smear test was this month and results were clear. I don't often have sex and this was quite intense (deep/long lasting.. cringe to put this on the internet to strangers I know). My period finished yesterday but the blood was totally different (brownish spotting last day of period whereas this blood was pinky).

I'm going to book a doctor's appointment of course but I just feel so upset as I've been working hard to get my health anxiety under control and every time I feel like I'm getting somewhere, something else happens.

I guess it's helpful to get all this down but man do I feel upset!

I've had this before. Your lady bits can be quite delicate around Aunt Flo and easily irritated.

This can happen, especially if you are dry as a result of not having sex too often. Of course it should be checked out but don’t worry unless there is something to worry about.

Thanks both, really appreciate the replies. I don't think it was a result of dryness but I'm hoping maybe I was just a bit "irritated" down there. Feels like it's one thing after another these days, getting older seems to come with so many weird body things lol :(

I've got a doctor's appointment this afternoon, they want to do a check down there.. they said on the phone that the bleeding is likely to be the result of my period but as I've got dodgy cells in the past, they want to check just incase. Sigh.

I had this. It was a benign growth in the uterus. Had a D&C and no further problems.

Mvshrln · 02/09/2020 12:18

How did they diagnose the benign growth? I'm v concerned about it being something sinister with my uterus.

Internal scan. Found a so called polyp the size of a large plum. It was purple like a plum lol.

Mvshrln · 02/09/2020 14:31

@perfumeistooexpensive ouch! sounds v painful but must've been a huge relief for you when they sorted it out! I had an internal scan a few years ago when my coil went missing (grim lol). The thought of uterus problems really freaks me out :/

Well, the doctor didn't do an internal exam as I've had a recent check from my smear test 3 weeks ago. They said the bleed is likely to be due to the fact my period ended the day before and to check to see if I bleed following sex again but the thing is I'm not very sexually active so it could be a while to wait and see Confused
