Blocked ear

Hi all,

I've had problems with my right ear for several weeks now, it is blocked and I can't hear very well out of it. I have tried Otex ear drops and warm olive oil but these haven't helped. I rang my GP who prescribed me antibiotics but won't let me come in for syringing due to the current situation. A warm compress seems to ease the aching but does anyone have any remedies or things they've bought that have helped unblock? Many thanks.

Is it worth trying this after using more wax softener?

These work particularly well to soften & remove though, much better than otex.

I used olive oil &!wrapped a heat pad in a scarf and tied that around my neck/head/ear.

I always lie with the warm olive oil in my ear as long as I can stand it, and do it several times a day. I then run the shower water into my ear.

Thanks for the recommendations, maybe I'm just not persevering long enough with olive oil drops. I have ordered a bulb syringe so will continue with the olive oil until that comes and then try flushing it out with warm water.
