Spotting after weaning even though on the pill?

Hi all,

I’m hoping for some reassurance as it’s so hard to speak to a doctor right now!

I b/fed for 6 months stopping around 8 weeks ago. Around 2-3 weeks ago I bled (lightly) for a week or so even though I’ve been back on the mini pill since 6 weeks post partum. My dr reassured me this was all to do with my hormones and stopping b/feeding and totally normal on the pill.

However today it has started again! I’m hoping this is just down to hormones (my hair has also just started to fall out / grow back) - has anyone else experienced this?

Mini pill can cause erratic bleeding and can also stop periods but can take time to settle. Hair falling out is also normal after birth/stopping breastfeeding and is hormone related. If you've stopped breastfeeding you could try a combined pill if you have no factors that rule it out.

It's very common with the mini pill. I came off it after a couple of months of spotting. My GP told me if I persevered for 6 months it would settle down but I wasn't willing to do that!
