... and now has a huge lump on his head. I think he hit it on the pedal of another nearby trike. He cried a bit, but stopped when I bf him. He's now fine, playing happily. Does he need to see a doctor? (Think I know the answer, but just want some reassurance - it looks terrible )

I don't think you need tot ake him

Just keep ac lose eye on him and if you're worried, perhaps phone NHS direct 0845 46 47 IIRC

If you don't have a cool pack (those squishy pack things), perhaps invest in one to keep in the fridge, you're going to need it with a small boy

I wouldnt worry

so long as he doesnt start being sick or unusually tired he should be fine.

all children bumo there heads and it is unlikely to be his only bump.... probably the first of many more

obviously if you are seriously concerned se a Dr, but otherwise dont worry as im sure he'l be fine like about 99% of head bumps that children give themselves

Thanks you two He won't entertain the idea of an icepack near his head!

No, my DS was the same - we got a Mr Bump one from boots that he did accept, eventually
