DH lump by collarbone

Just looking for a hand hold really Sad

DP found a lump near his right collarbone yesterday. The GP did a telephone consultation this afternoon and he has to go in on Friday for her to see it. I would say it’s about the size of a conker and firm, but not hard.

He’s 39, overweight and a vaper, but otherwise in good health. He’s tired and has back/shoulder pain sometimes but he’s been sleeping on the sofa most nights because our young son will not go in his own bed, so we just thought it was due to that. Other than that, he’s hale and hearty.

I know Dr Google should be struck off, but his father and aunt both died relatively young of lung cancer and now I am absolutely panicking, but of course don’t want him to know that SadSadSad

Thanks for reading, have a good day.

It’s most likely nothing serious (please try not to google) and I hope that’s the result he gets.

I hope that didn’t sound dismissive, but it really is more likely to be ok than not.

No it sounds sensible, thank you! I do know google is not my friend, it’s just so hard not to :(

I had a lump on my collarbone and it turned out to be osteomyelitis (asymptomatic) but the bone was hard not firm so prob not that- may need a biopsy.

CountreeGurl · 24/08/2020 23:08

It is most probably a cyst, my mum had one, it was really large and removed recently. Collar bone lumps are really common, please try not to worry

Just to say that DH had a scan yesterday and it’s just a lipoma. Very relieved indeed! Thank you to those who were kind Smile
