Painful/sore breast....only the one

Evening,

I've got a sore boob, just the one sort of under the nipple area.

Saw the doctor a week ago, she found a lump, and prescribed antibiotics, saying possibly mastitis (I last breastfed 13 years ago), which I've now finished.
And no change, still feels the same, soreness pain wise.

She said wait 2 weeks after the meds, then I'd the same to come back, but why wait?
Any ideas?
What would you do?

Hi OP,
No harm at all in going back to see the GP if you've finished the antibiotics. Don't wait two weeks; you'll only worry. In my experience the doc would rather you came back sooner.

Straight back to the GP and insist on a referral to the breast clinic. Hopefully it's nothing but you need to have it checked.

I had a similar thing and was referred to breast clinic where mammogram revealed I had dense breast tissue which meant I got lots of little cysts most of which I couldn't feel but this time one was painful, however were harmless.
So it can be innocuous, I tell you so you don't panic, but absolutely you will only know what the cause of yours is if it is checked.
Be assertive if your doctor isn't taking that step mine required no prompting

Thanks everyone, it was the waiting 2weeks thing that didn't make sense to me. Why??
She gave no reason.

I'll do the online form today.
