DH shadows and constrictions on bowels

DH has an appointment tomorrow after having an ultrasound on his stomach last week.
During the ultrasound the sonography mentioned there were shadowy patches and parts of his bowel that narrowed and then expanded.
Can't sleep worrying about it being something terrible.
Does anyone have any experience with this and it being a good outcome?
So as not to drip feed DH has had problems with his bowel for a few years since he had campylobacter. An endoscopy two years ago showed polyps on his bowel but no follow up was ever organised or suggested.
This most recent ultrasound came up after a private general health check, urine sample showed trace amounts of blood so doctor referred for ultrasound on kidneys, this all turned out to be fine but brought up the bowel issue.
Can't help but feel it's going to be bad news tomorrow and don't know how to get through the night. Haven't mentioned any of this to DH as don't want to worry him anymore than he already is.

Diverticulitis maybe?

Handhold, OP. I don't have any advice, but I'm thinking of you. Please update us

I'm really hoping it's something we can deal with/treat. We have one dc and one on the way and can't imagine doing any of it without DH here
