I have been recently diagnosed with an overactive thyroid. I am currently taking carbimazole for my thyroid problems and was prescribed the beta-blocker propranolol. I didn't take the propranolol due to having asthma, which I enquired with a pharmacist who also said not to take it. The reason I was prescribed propranolol was because I had been having heart palpitations/anxiety.
I was then prescribed Verapamil the calcium channel blocker. It's used to treat high blood pressure, migraines and chest pains(?)- and more things but I'm not 100% sure on what else really. I bought myself a blood pressure checker yesterday, and after testing twice everything seemed fine? The results were 100/72 the first time and the second time was 98/75 which I believe is in the normal range? Correct me if I'm wrong
so anyway, I'm worried about taking verapamil because I don't want it to reduce my blood pressure when I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Or am I just worrying about nothing?
I have always been funny about taking any sort of medication so I'm probably just overthinking it. I think my doctors/endocrinologist are bored of hearing from me now so trying to give them a break from me
