Neck lump for 10+ years

Every now and then, this concerns me briefly, then I forget about it again.

Around 10 years ago I felt a lump just behind my ear. I went to the doctors and she had a feel and wasn't too concerned, just said probably swollen lymph node.

It's still there. Cause for concern?!

My partner has one on the back of his neck that has been there for probably five years now. It’s been completely checked out and is nothing at all to worry about. He was told that sometimes once a lymph node swells, it just doesn’t go back down but it is no reason for concern. I wonder since you’ve had yours for a long time it could be the same?
