Strange bruise after mosquito bite

I'm not sure about how concerned I should be about this swelling/bruising I've had for about a week. I think it's the result of a mosquito bite. It doesn't itch and only hurts if I press it. It's not getting any bigger. Do any of you wise Mumsnetters have any advise? My DH thinks I should phone the GP whereas I'm inclined to leave it as it's not getting any worse.

I think it was probably a horse fly bite. They are quite likely to become infected, and yes, you need antibiotics.
Ring your gp ASAP. You can send the photo and they will decide whether to see you or not, but I expect they will prescribe antibiotics.
