Male Uti - any experience

Hi

My partner has been having symptoms of a uti.... Burning in peeing and needing to go more for past two weeks. Never went to the Dr's despite me telling him. Yesterday complained of lower back ache so went to Dr's and was given antibiotics.
He's been on them for 24 hours and doesn't seem to be improving.
He's now worried something is wrong and it's not just a uti. Does anyone have any experience of this? He is in his early 40s.

Not peeing blood nor is he getting up in the night and there is no dribbling urine and he doesn't have trouble starting to wee.

Thanks

Give it a couple of days. If he’s still suffering symptoms when he’s finished the course, get back in touch with the dr

www.nhs.uk/conditions/urinary-tract-infections-utis/

“Once you start treatment, the symptoms should start to clear up within 5 days in adults and 2 days in children.
It's important to finish the whole course of antibiotics, even if you start to feel better.”

I would also make sure he has plenty of fluids. It can help 'flush' things out a little.
