Saw doctor this morning (not with appointment, saw him at the shop!), and he thinks I've got the flu; very very achy, severe cough (sick with it, and as my pelvic floor isn't the same, you can imagine what it is like)!

Dr.said it is best to completly rest, in bed, However, with two young dc, this isn't easy. What else can I take for it. TBH, if I could get rid of the cough, I would feel a bit more with it!

Thanks

Can recommend Night Nurse/Day Nurse.

But the really important thing with flu is to rest. Do you have any friends/family close by who can give you a break? Do you have a dp/dh - they really need to help you to rest. Without rest it will take much longer to go and you risk post viral syndrome.

half a real lemon squeezed into a mug ,big spoon of honey and top up with hot water. I would put a big slug of glenmorangie in it too.
You can feel it driving the germs out of your bones.

poor you ,hope you feel better soon ,put a fleecy jumper on and a pair of thick socks too

Thanks for the advice. Going to go to bed when dh gets home from work, which souldn't be too long now!

Going to try the night nurse/day nurse, and going to do the cup with lemon and honey (including the whiskey!!).
