Hi
When I was 29 weeks pregnant I collapsed into a heap while hoovering. It was sciatica. A GP came out in the middle of the night as I could not get off the sofa. Crying in so much pain as soon as I moved. He prescribed morphine but I wasn't 💯% sure to take it the next morning due to pregnancy. I didn't! Anyhow by the next day (after hubby carried me to bed as still in terrible pain) we had to call an ambulance as pain was horrendous. I was admitted for 2 days. I was given 2mg of diazepam 4 times a day and I didn't even question it as in hospital etc...! I requested my hospital notes and found this out.
Anyhow I had my baby which was a healthy girl but now we have had a diagnosis of autism at 5 year old.
Could this drug of caused this???

No.

My son has autism and I never had anything like that in pregnancy. There isn't a known cause of autism, they think it's a mix of genetics and environmental factors

Not at all - my son has ASD and I didn't take diazepam during pregnancy.

I was worried just in case I caused it by taking the drug!
Thank you.
