Sacral herpes

So I have sacral herpes ( you get an outbreak at the base of your spine.)
I've had about 3 so far this year , and you can also get nerve pain down into your leg which I have this time as well as the skin feeling numb.
Does anyone else get this or can any Drs on here advise on what might help with the outbreaks / pain etc. I take Lysine daily but don't think that helps for me but I am continuing in case it is holding back some.

It’s good that you are taking Lysine, are you also avoiding foods high in arginine too (nuts, cheap chocolate).

A friend (who is a nutritionist) swear by Monolaurin, buys it from Amazon.
I found an article on it here

@CrystalMaisie
Thanks for replying.
I'm not really one for chocolate ,but nuts are another thing entirely, so will have to cut back.
That is an interesting article , I will give it ago.

Arginine and lysine work in balance together, when one is high, the other is low. Even though you are taking a lysine supplement, it sounds as though your arginine levels are higher from eating nuts.

Thanks again for your input, I appreciate you taking time to give what sounds an informed opinion.
Do you think asking my Dr to go on an extended course of Avivoclor ( spelling possibly incorrect ) would help ? I've read some people try for 6 months or do people take it longer. Do you know if it stops all breakouts ?

Sorry I don’t know anything about that. Only that the Monolaurin has antiviral properties. I would try diet in the short term and see how much difference it makes.

@CrystalMaisie
