This is so embarrassing.

But I noticed a painful lump on the inside of my bum a few months ago. I popped it and it felt sore. I decided to have a look and I have a few small spots on both sides.

It went away and now it’s back again! It’s so painful. I’m trying not to squeeze it but it’s so sore lol.

What could it be 😩🙈

You need to start looking after your butt skin!!

Buy some Korean Italy towels. Exfoliating regularly will help no end.

GuyFawkesDay · 09/08/2020 09:52

Pressed send too soon.

Right now, drawing ointment, plaster, hope it comes to a head and then once it's healed, get exfoliating.

I had a few similar issues, the exfoliating has made s huge difference.

Iwantacookie · 09/08/2020 10:05

I have a similar issue op.
Atm I am just using a facial scrub on there. Sometimes I feel I've got bum acne Sad

AliceinBunnyland · 09/08/2020 10:15

I had a boil on my inner thigh groin area recently. It was very painful especially as my jeans seemed to rub against it

I read that popping is not a good idea as it could spread the infection and come back there or elsewhere.

I read putting a hot cloth on it or sitting in a hot bath helps which is what I did and it went in a couple of days plus I simply had to wear more comfy clothes.

AliceinBunnyland · 09/08/2020 10:16

It should pop itself (heat helps) especially if it is hard but if it is there for days and sort of goes soft as if it won't pop then it might not and that might be when you need to speak to your GP.

Bunnybaubles · 11/08/2020 11:01

How often do you get it? Do you get it anywhere else? Theres a skin condition called Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) which can range in severity from a few boils / spots to severe abscesses and scarring. I was diagnosed through dermatology for a mild case, although I can have painful flare ups!
Years before being diagnosed I used to notice periodically spots / boils appearing in these areas.

AliceinBunnyland · 11/08/2020 11:03

That's interesting @Bunnybaubles

I had a boil about four weeks ago, left inner thigh groin area and it went, yesterday realised one has popped up on the other leg!

But this is the first time I have had them.

Mummypig2020 · 11/08/2020 11:44

I have a few around that area 🙈 i ended up putting thrush cream on it because it was so itchy 😂🙈

AliceinBunnyland · 11/08/2020 12:11

Mine are not itchy they are just painful and sensitive

Bunnybaubles · 11/08/2020 12:36

If you have them longer than 2 weeks you can ask your gp for Flucloxacillin antibiotics. More often than not they help clear them up. There is also a anti-bacterial body wash you can use that is meant to help prevent bad breakouts. I'll need to double check what it's called later, it's upstairs where the babies are napping just now.

Dreamersandwishers · 11/08/2020 12:43

Have you eaten a lot of fruit or other sources of sugar lately? My sister had this problem and her GP suggested she cut the sugar - no recurring problem.
That may not be your trigger, but thought I’d pass it on.

sashh · 11/08/2020 12:52

Have a trip to your GP - boils below the waist can (but by no means definitely) indicate other things eg diabetes.

chatterbugmegastar · 11/08/2020 12:53

@GuyFawkesDay .... do you use them on your groin skin?

GreyishDays · 11/08/2020 12:53

Are you washing every day Smile

My mum got a few because she wasn’t in the habit of having a shower every day.

HansBanans · 11/08/2020 12:58

Have you had an STI screening recently OP? Herpes can present as itchy and painful sores.

Mummypig2020 · 11/08/2020 13:49

I don’t have herpes 😂🙈

I shower 2ce a day at least, I hate feeling “wet” down there 😂 I’m not sure if it’s the shower gel I was using? I think it was itchy because I had popped it. It’s gone now and not hurting.

It seems to be when we’ve been out for the day in hot weather, not sure if my pants are rubbing? 🙈

AliceinBunnyland · 11/08/2020 13:55

Yes I found mine was painful if i was wearing jeans and it rubbed

gamerchick · 11/08/2020 13:59

Sling half a bag of Epsom salts in your washing machine drum and wash some old towels to sterilise your machine of the staphylococcus. Putting some in a bath can help you as well.

GuyFawkesDay · 11/08/2020 14:00

Mine was caused by being sweaty in gym gear, it was basically just a huge zit, but it came back after I thought it had gone. Nothing since exfoliating 2x a week in shower or bath.

ThighthighOfthigh · 11/08/2020 14:11

People who get this often have staphylococcus aureus on their skin. You can buy something called hibiscrub from Amazon, shower twice a day and put hibiscrub on your flannel. It keeps it at bay.
