Test results normal but still unwell

Hi,

My problems started with a mole that had changed so I was referred to dermatology who told me it was benign so I was relieved and everything was fine. Not long after though I started getting persistent headaches in the right side of my head and dizziness and pins and needles in my left side and slight blurred vision. I’ve had blood tests, examinations, an eye test, and even a ct scan all of which are normal but I’m still getting the symptoms.

My anxiety is through the roof at the minute being a single mum and I’m just thinking the worse. I don’t understand how all the tests could be normal as my symptoms are not going away at all. The doctors think it’s health anxiety, don’t really know what to do next but I’m just upset and scared at the moment

I don't have any real answers but didn't want to read and run. I really sympathise with you OP. I've had periods of health anxiety and it is all consuming and exhausting. Often it's impossible to distinguish genuine physical symptoms from anxiety related symptoms. When you're in this state it's so easy to convince yourself you have something awful and your mind races away and that only contributes to the symptoms. Definitely don't google symptoms- that's absolutely the worst thing you can do. Try and take reassurance from the clear tests you've had and talk to gp and ongoing concerns. Hopefully if they've flagged health anxiety they will be sympathetic and will check you over thoroughly to give you the reassurance you need.
