I have several spots on my foot, well they are more like lumps really, small, hard and red. They hurt and itch! Anyone had this?

Are you pregnant by any chance? I had a very similar thing in the final month of my pregnancy. Was just given a gel to use and they cleared up in a week or so. Still don´t know what it was though!
HTH

loopylou6 · 02/10/2007 18:47

YES i am pretty sure i knoww hat this is, dh had EXACTLY the same symtoms, the blisters popped and turned into a big rash, very itchy and sore, it was athletes foot, he switched the type of socks he was wearing (cotton) and has been wearing the thick white sports socks, apparently they soak up sweat, and also has been using the canniston (sp?) cream, and its all cleared up now.HTH

paddingtonbear1 · 02/10/2007 19:59

my dp has a type of eczema on his feet which looks how you describe yours... i have now totally forgotten the name of it... hmmm.. its something like dishydrotic eczema... try this website...

www.drfoot.co.uk/eczema.htm

paddingtonbear1 · 02/10/2007 20:06

gosh I hope not, it's rare in humans though isn't it?

OP posts:
dinny · 02/10/2007 20:07

yes, someone at work had the same ezcema as LadySaunders says - bet that's what it is - she says it is agony and has to use hydrocortisone when it is a bad flare-up.

dinny · 02/10/2007 20:07

Paddingtonbear - you will be culled if it is - do I need to give DEFRA a ring?

paddingtonbear1 · 02/10/2007 20:11

I think I'll take the eczema!! I do sometimes get this anyway, usually on my hands, and already have cream for it. I've just never had it on my feet before!

OP posts:
LadySanders · 02/10/2007 20:12

got my i and y mixed up, its dyshidrotic, lots of rather gross pix on internet if you look it up but might be helpful for ref!

LadySanders · 02/10/2007 20:13

i'd bung some hydrocortisone (or whatever cream you've got already) on it then and see if it helps before you can get doc appt

paddingtonbear1 · 02/10/2007 20:13

actually just had another look at my foot and the spots have changed - no longer read - now more like clear, hard blisters! argh.

OP posts:
paddingtonbear1 · 02/10/2007 20:14

red, I mean

OP posts:
LadySanders · 02/10/2007 20:15

ok lets be gross for a moment, dp's start red, then fill up with fluid and burst... its lucky he's so gorgeous from teh ankles up, really

LadySanders · 02/10/2007 20:17

ps, i was just posting yesterday on a "how not to put too much weight on when you're pregnant" thread, i think i've just found the answer to the dilemma, look up skin conditions on the internet before eating! yay!

paddingtonbear1 · 02/10/2007 20:18

yep LadySanders sounds just like that! Will find my cream right now. Thanks v much!

paddington, I currently have 2 possibly 3 kids with hand, foot and mouth, it's a mild virus which usually causes minimal discomfort and probs, it's quite common and not related to animal foot and mouth. by the by, my son started with itchy spots on his feet, which turned to a rash across his ankles and then spots on the palms of his hands and rashes up his arms, also quite a nasty 'cold sore' on his nose, the days before he was very hot and unwell. My baby just got spots and seems hardly disturbed by it and doesn't seem to have been itchy. They look a little like small chicken pox but tend to not be on the torso, although could be around the bum! HTH (even if it is long-winded)

loopylou6 · 02/10/2007 23:11

paddington, the common place is between the toes, but it can be anywhere else on the foot, everything u have described, even down to the spots turning to blisters mirrors what my hubby has just had, i think i can quite confidently say it is athletes foot, go get yourself some of them dead sexy white sports socks and some cream , it clears very quickly aswell

loopylou6 · 02/10/2007 23:12

oh should add, hubbys where on the underside of his foot
