NC for this. I have tried to show pics of me left and right leg. Swollen inside the knee on both sides. Red, swollen, painful and tender. Have been told by theee health professionals it’s fat. I’m not so sure. Have been like this for approx year. Also swollen tender ankle. Which is also fat. Any other expert medical opinions please? Thank you. I’m sooo embarrassed 😳

Well, even if it is caused by weight if you're in pain then you still need some help with it. Your ankles look normal to me for someone who is overweight - I am and mine are the same - and a little bit of aching around joints is to be expected when you're carrying around extra body weight. But if you're in pain there could well be something underlying OR it could be that you need a more interventionist approach to weight loss (if you want one). So I would definitely get back to your GP. It's very easy as an overweight woman to a) dismiss your own health conditions as "because I'm fat" and b) have them dismissed by medical professionals. So you have to persevere.

Ah lucky you. Like me you have lipedema. Blessed with legs that accrue painful, diet resistant fat. The "bracelet" of slimmer ankle and fat pads at the knees are diagnostic.

Looks like it could be edema.

Thanks so much ladies. I’ve had a wee look at that article , very interesting and I will take some affirmative action. I’ve also looked up Edema as well. So much fun. Not sure this bod can take much more. I’m only 40 and falling apart!!

@Marenac if you do want to try low carb then please head over to the weight loss area as there’s a huge amount of support. Also Facebook groups are fantastic. I’ve found low carb/Keto excellent for inflammation and health issues so I think it would be an excellent thing to try, even if just for s few weeks.
