IBS or something else?

I’m so fed up, I’ve had a flare up for about a month now.
Fine in morning, then have lunch, trying to eat healthy, soups, salads, occasional sandwich on brown seeded bread. Happens nearly every time I eat. Today brown bread sandwich with ham and avocado, stomach bloated to me feeling like I was 6 months pregnant. Terrible pains in stomach back and tops of legs. Generally felt awful. This lasted 7 hours. Took a couple of peppermint oil capsules which helped for an hour and then wore offZ
I’m so fed up with this pain I don’t know what to do

It might sound crazy but you might be eating too well! I got referred to a dietician for my IBS and she said I was one of the few people she'd advise to eat white bread rather than brown / seeded! Like you, i eat a lot of fruit and veg, always wholemeal / wholegrain bread, good quality breakfast cereals, and she said I basically ate more fibre than my digestive system could handle. I really watch how much fruit I eat now, i cut most dairy out of my diet and I don't eat much bread and it's made a big difference.
Have you been tested for Coelic?

Ibs is often worse in the mornings I find. Have you had IBS diagnosis and anything else rulled out?

I thought avocado naturally gave the runs? I don't eat it but have heard it several times. Yummy but book a day off for the loo.
I'd see a homeopathic doctor for natural remedies. They work really well with individual cases and find a solution suited to the person.

Try the FODMAP diet, it's amazing for ibs

I have similar and have had to give up bread and pasta almost completely. I've been tested for coeliac and I technically don't have it and can eat other products containing low levels of gluten, but bread and pasta are too much for my digestive system except very occasionally.

I also agree with the PP who said it's too much fibre. It's counter intuitive because we have it rammed down our throats about fibre and fruit & veg, but the amount of fibre that would be good for someone with a healthy digestive system would leave many IBS sufferers unable to get off the toilet!

The paleo diet has been recommended to me, and while I’m not officially following it (yet), I probably do something close to it (eg lots of lean meat, fish and dairy) although I have to be quite selective about what veg I eat, and can only manage small quantities. I certainly can't eat 'five a day'! Can't handle anything spicy any more either which is rather upsetting.

Thanks everyone.
I had a doctors appointment yesterday and they are going to do blood and stool test and then depending on results refer me to gastric team
My cousin has recently been diagnosed with cronhs so that’s made me worry and I seem to have quite a few symptoms.
The last 2 days I have been ok but I’m eating until I feel I’ve had enough and not scoffing loads!

Thank you oomy! I also can’t do 5 a day! I will look at paleo diet...

Avocado is bad on the fodmap which is disappointing because I love it and I think every time I’ve had a flare up I have had it

I did a celiac test tonight looks like it’s negative but I’m sure I can see a faint line (it’s like doing a pregnancy test lol)
