LPR / reflux diet?

I possibly (who knows) have LPR. I have no symptoms of heartburn etc but I do have a feeling of a lump in my throat, a very dry and tight throat and occasionally a tickly feeling in the same place. Doctor says it's globus possibly caused by LPR. I'm trying to adapt my diet to see if anything helps but I don't know where to start. I can't tell what foods are annoying me so how on earth do I start? I'm so confused by all the literature and don't really know how to begin. Are there any LPR experts out there?

Hi Asterope,
I’m not a LPT expert by any means but think I have developed this too over the last few weeks. My symptoms started at the end of March with gnawing like hunger pangs which didn’t get better with food (strangely occurred at the same time I was having Coronavirus symptoms). These symptoms would disappear for a couple of weeks and then come back again for a few days. I then had a week of terrible indigestion and heartburn mid July that I couldn’t shift with Gaviscon/Anacids (it followed a very stressful work week!), so my doctor prescribed me Lansprazole for 4 weeks, I only managed 14 days as it was making me really bloated and affected my appetite (I already lost 4 pounds in 2 weeks). Also my heartburn had cleared up but was still getting some stomach gnawing on and off (often when hungry). Whilst taking this medicine I developed LPR symptoms (mucous at the back of the throat, sore throat, hoarseness, clearing of throat ). I thought it might have been a side effect initially but my doctor thinks this is a progression of my acid reflux so I have just been tested for h pylori ( awaiting results) to see if an infection is causing it. The doctor has prescribed me 4 weeks of Omeprazole which I’m not too keen to take but not sure what other options I have to shift it at the minute. I’ve already cut out all trigger foods/alcohol and I’m eating smaller frequent meals. I’ve had some relief for the throat issues with Gaviscon advance, especially taking it before bed and chamomile tea has been really soothing. Cutting out alcohol and dairy has helped me too. I’m trying to avoid stress, although I appreciate it has been quite difficult to do this year! I hope it clears up soon for you, it is really unpleasant.
