Iron tablets making me nauseous

As per the subject, I've recently started taking iron tablets and they are making me really nauseous and gassy. Has anyone else had this problem, will it go away? Or is there something else I can take? Or even better can I perk up my iron levels through changes to my diet? They were on the very bottom of the normal range and I've been struggling with being tired.

There are different varieties of iron supplements, and some people deal with some more easily than others — can you experiment? My GP recommended Active Iron. I can’t take any on an empty stomach.

This is whatever they prescribed, ferrous fumarate 322mg. The doctor mentioned that they are stronger than over the counter tablets so I could downgrade perhaps.

There are different types of iron you can take, it's worth maybe speaking to your GP. I can't remember which one I started on, but it gave me similar side effects (which the added fun of being really constipated). But after switching no side effects at all, but it's different for everyone and different forms seem to work better, id give them a call

I couldn't tolerate any oral iron and ended up having iron infusions, my levels went up quickly over a couple of weeks (had four infusions) and I felt amazing, full of energy after having felt tired for ages

Look up chelated iron. It is digestible. I've no idea why (cheaper?) the prescription ones are so awful.
You do not need to suffer
