Hi, I have had uti symptoms for the past 3 weeks, I got antibiotics from the doc and nothing changed so I got a second set of different antibiotics and still don't feel different.

I don't have any burning or stinging when peeing but peeing loads and in small amounts, I also have a achy lower back.

Did they actually send a sample to the lab?

Nic93 · 28/07/2020 21:51

They took a urine sample when they gave me the second set of antibiotics but I've heard nothing back.

I would be pushing for a referral to check your kidneys.

FatherBrownsBicycle · 29/07/2020 03:47

Phone for the results to make sure you have the correct antibiotics, if the symptoms are still continuing you probably need another chat with the Dr / prescribing nurse anyway.

They sent my urine to a lab and it came back clear, I'm so confused because I'm still having frequent urination and now have a ache in my lower back.

So they have gave me laxitves as they think I'm blocked up and that's putting pressure on my bladder and causing frequent urination 😳

Sounds bizarre I know but do you use sweeters at all? I had the same symptoms and after many courses of antibiotics and a clear urology was still having symptoms. I read sweetners can irritate the bladder. I stopped having them in my tea and my symptoms disappeared within a day or so.

Aching in lower back sounds like kidneys to me (I was in hospital last year for four days after what started as a UTI, but ended up as a bad kidney infection). I would try and contact your doctor again and really stress the back pain!

Nic93 · 29/07/2020 16:24

I don't use sweeteners at all, I'm so confused it's been like this for 3 weeks now 😩
I might call back again tomorrow because I gave them a urine sample after my first set of antibiotics, it was when I called saying they didn't work they gave me a second set of antibiotics and asked for a urine sample.

I've had this, doctor misdiagnosed gave me wrong medication. Go back to your doctor, they can make mistakes.

Healthquestion101 · 29/07/2020 17:07

I had absolute symptoms of a uti. Burning feeling and like you constant wanting to wee! Def go back.... something is irritating your bladder.

Healthquestion101 · 29/07/2020 17:08

If it's not a UTI it could be something called
interstitial cystitis.

keepingbees · 29/07/2020 17:10

Could it be a kidney or bladder stone? Worth asking for a scan maybe. Did they dip test your urine for blood?

Nic93 · 29/07/2020 17:11

Yeah, I didn't and still don't have any burning or sensation when urinating 😕
