Anyone had this? It blooming hurts. And I am on my feet all day at.work. Every step hurts. Any tips for combating? Have tried support socks and insoles but neither help much.

I sympathise...so painful!

Ibuprofen gel rubbed into tendon regularly.
Ice for 15 mins 3 times a day
Physio for exercises and to assess gait.

I needed insoles for shoes and eventually had ultra sound therapy.

Mine started due to rapid weight gain due to another injury Sad

I have had this for a year, and now have a lovely big lump protruding on the back of my ankle. Some days I can barely walk, and this isn't helping with weight gain (hurts to exercise).

Gp last year suggested stretching and ice. Neither of which worked as I'm still hobbling around.

My sympathies as it's excruciating.

I had this last year. V painful. I also had a large lump at the back of my ankle.

The best advice I had was never to walk around barefoot. Ever. I have Fitflop slippers at home, or Fitflop sandals at home now that it's warm. This combined with following all the recommended exercises "cured" it.

Totally agree with barefoot & fitflops. Also, if you can get it - Arcoxia. It’s a bloody amazing anti-inflammatory, but you made need to battle your gp for it.

I have Achilles tendinitis in both, a Morton’s neuroma in my right and Plantar Fasciitis in both. Makes for rather interesting feet!

Arcoxia is hideous to take, because you feel v sick for a while after, however, one tablet will see you through 2/3 pain free days. Works better than injections for me. Magic/horrid stuff!

Ah man I had this last year and it hurts like hell! I saw a podiatrist who had me buy proper running shoes and i was actually encouraged to build up my strength as I had it for months before I actually saw a doctor so by that point all I could do was try and strengthen it. Oh and oddly heels really help so wearing shoes that aren't just flat :)

Well I've taken the plunge, and bought some fit flops for wearing round the house. Thought I was feeling slightly less pain until I walked miles today in my knackered old birkenstocks. They are now in the bin.

Need to address the vicious circle of my weight / bad ankle. Just not sure how yet.
