Emollients before exercise

I've had a lot of skin problems over the last few years as a result of weight training in the gym, due to the friction under my arms.

The doctor suggested I try some kind of emollient before exercising. Is there anything in particular I should look for? Or just anything with 'emollient' written on it?

I would have thought something like anti-chafing gel/cream would be the thing to use just before exercising.

There’s runners’ stuff that could be good.

I've had eczema for years and the best moisturiser I've found is aveeno. It works for everything, although I've never used it to prevent chafing.

If you get chafing, you want to be using BodyGlide or some chamois cream

Thanks for the replies

I forgot to mention I'd tried anti-chafing cream (seemed a bit like vaseline) from Boots a while back and it made my problem worse

I'll give BodyGlide / chamois a go thank you!

I also read that baby powder can be a good way to keep the area dry and reduce friction so might try that
