Self acupuncture - desperate times

I suffer from migraines - the pain can be unbearable, meds don’t help. Various pressure points in my hand/wrist/arm, neck all get intensely painful and I would love to be able to self treat with acupuncture.

Is this a thing?

Acupuncturists are open again where I am. Thank God.

I believe a lot of the points are deep or unreachable by yourself. So probably best to leave to the experts.

Acupressure is when you just press on the points. That’s more achievable. But if you don’t know what you are doing could do more harm than good?

Therapists train for years and don’t repeat the same points over and over again. There are groups of points, and is you start opening points and releasing blockages but don’t do the full group of points presumably the treatment won’t be as effective.

Get down to a proper acupuncturist and get a professional treatment. I hope they sort out your pain.

If you go regularly perhaps that could solve your issues? Perhaps someone here could tell you if that’s happened to them?

All v sensible advice. I did watch a programme recently where a guy was saying his nhs GP had shown him where to use acupuncture on his hand to treat migraine. I would like that autonomy... I’m not squeamish
