Thinking of trying for no.2 after hyperemesis on first pregnancy. Any tips or advice?

Hi, I had my first baby 16 months ago. I suffered from hyperemesis that resulted in me being hospitalised and put on a drip. I was very sick for approx. 5 months but although the sickness improved after that it never totally went away until dd was born. We are thinking of trying for no.2 in the next few months but we are worried about how I would manage with a toddler if I was as sick again. Also, i feel that the anxiety and PND I suffered after dd's birth was in a large way related to the sickness as I never enjoyed my pregnancy and never thought about the arrival of a baby - just when I wouldn't be sick anymore.
I want to do all I can to prevent it next time so I have been doing some research. So far i have decided to get tested for helicobacter pylori as I have had this in the past and new reasearch shows there could be a connection. I am also going to start taking vitamin b and improving my diet.
Just wondering if anyone who has been through this has any advice or tips for me. I realise there may be no way to prevent it but I at least want to give myself a fighting chance. TIA

i had eclampsia with first pg and i knew i wanted another but we waited 5 yrs due to health. the care i got second time round was brilliant and they will keep an eye on you - even if that means daily visits which i had in the end

I have 3 children.
dd1 i was very sick for first 4 months.
dd2 i was brill - a little nausea but nothing terrible and went at 11-12 weeks.
ds1 i had hyperemesis for 9 months !I really really feel for you because it was totally awful. What made it worse was my mum telling me it was all in my mind !I actually remember asking my dd to stay in the bathroom with me when i had a bath because i was so weak i was scared id pass out and drown in the bath ! Anyway-not much help to you im afraid-but what im trying to say it you wont necessarily get it again. All pregnancies are differrent and hopefully this time youll be better.
