Nothing. I have had no injury, no accident, but I am in agony with my back😣

I sat in the car earlier, unable to move, because the pain caused by me pulling the hand brake on was almost enough to make me pass out.
Uneven road driving home had me cursing.
I can bend forwards, no problem, but try arching my back, and i whimper like a puppy.
Moving side to side (as in sliding left hand down to left knee) brings me to my knees.

This has come from nowhere, i have had pain in my left knee recently, but can walk it off. But my back. Jesus, the blinding pain is excruciating.

Before I overdose on gin painkillers, any ideas?

If it's muscular, a hot water bottle will help.

Sounds like a muscle spasm and they are absolute agony. Lay down with a heating pad for a while, but the most important thing to do is to keep moving. Even if you have to shuffle along, keep moving. I know how much it hurts but long periods of inactivity will actually make it worse. I get these in the same exact spot in my back about 3 or 4 times a year, and it's horrible. They come out of nowhere, no injury, no nothing, it's like switch just flips and there it is.

Thank you! Strangely enough, spasm was the word that kept coming to mind. It really is painful, and I am usually quite a hard nut😁 It hurts more when I am sitting, so have been moving around a lot. I dont have a hot water bottle or heating pad, so will have to go shopping tomorrow if I am still like this.

Have taken some anti inflammatories and pain killers for now.

Blimey. This hurts 😣

How are you doing now? I triggered muscle spasms and sciatica by changing gears as I went to turn a corner. I couldn't believe something so minor could have caused something like it.

I think quite a lot of people are having back problems at the moment - maybe because lots of people are slouching over tiny laptops all day trying to work from home rather than in the office with a good chair and a raised computer monitor.
