Cellulitis help

Hi there
Hoping someone on here might be able to help.
I've recently started running long distance and obviously it gets quite warm. Last Thursday I did a morning run, came home and showered and got changed into some leggings to WFH.

I noticed my bellybutton was a bit itchy but thought nothing of it.

Over the weekend it progressed to a red mark surrounding my bellybutton and pain felt "inside" my body that hurts when I move or walk.

I called out of hours Sunday and was advised to go to the hospital. Doctor confirmed it's cellulitis which likely got through a scar in my bellybutton. Was given antibiotics and told to marker pen a circle around the red and if the redness spread outside the circle to go back.

This morning after a day yesterday in agony and no sleep I called out of hours and was told to go back to the hospital.

The red is now outside of the marker pen circle, the scar in my bellybutton is now about 0.5cm thick and pus is coming out.

Doctor examined and said I seemed fine and to go home, keep taking the antibiotics and clean with TCP.

I cannot even say how rubbish I feel (no fever or anything) but I am so worried that it's spreading but equally don't want to waste doctors time if they think the antibiotics need to kick in.

Anybody else ever experienced cellulitis? Does it get worse before getting better?
Thanks in advance Daffodil

Give them chance to work. You should notice a difference in the next 24-48 hours. If not, call back.
