I had thrush recently which got very sore and took a canisten tablet, which worked. I also have piles which are bleeding. Now the in between bit, the perineum is bleeding and has what looks like a cut on it or a tear. I don’t know what’s caused it I haven’t had sex for months. It really stings when I go to the loo and I don’t know what to do! Help me Mumsnet!

As you have multiple problems which might be linked, it sounds like you'd be well advised to contact your GP.

Small splits in the skin down there can be a part of thrush symptoms.

I thought so too! It started when the thrush was there. Maybe it just needs more time.

Were you prescribed the canestan tablet or did you just go to the pharmacist?

It's similar, I think, but I've recently been struggling with thrush from breastfeeding around my nipples, and that has caused small cracks in them - it's really painful. Definitely speak to the gp, there's a few different treatments they can try.

Also it doesn't just need more time! It needs proper treatment to deal with the infection! I hope you get sorted soon, thrush is miserable.

The thrush has gone though, I think it needs time to heal after the thrush has gone. I was prescribed the tablet and I have one more if needed.
