SORRY IF TMI! DS and testicles

Hi all, sorry if this is long and TMI but recently DS (6) had surgery as his left teste twisted around.

So it was about half 8 on Sunday night and DS said that his 'willy' hurt. I asked where abouts and he showed me. Anyway, his left testicle was swollen so I gave him some calpol and he went to bed. The next morning at around 7, he came in to mine and DPs room screaming holding his willy. I asked him if it hurt he said "yeah mummy lots". It stopped after calpol and came back around 10 so DP called 111 and they suspected torsion so we went to A&E. We arrived at about 10:20 and saw a doctor in 10 minutes! Anyways the doc said he needed a scan and it turned out to be a torsion. 20 minutes later, he was put under and taken down. (Sorry if TMI here) Surgery consisted of cutting open the sack, untwistin the testicle and stitching both to the sack then closing it. DS stayed in hospital for the night and was sent home Tuesday at about half 2. He didn't like wearing a mask because of the virus and he is now at home.

Sorry for the long post I just wanted to ask if anyone has any tips on looking after his willy while it's like that. Doc said no exercise for 4 weeks etc. and he really wants to go on the trampoline but I say every time "no you can't otherwise your willy might get hurt". Sorry for the long post about it I just want to know if I can do anything to help. Thank you

Sorry no experience of this. Hope he feels better soon. Do they know what caused it?

Sorry no experience of this condition but my DS was circumcised at 3 years old due to ongoing issues and his recovery was awful. His stitches kept bursting and my god did it bleed. The only advice I can say is make sure he rests and reduces his activity. There were many times the community nurse thought my son would have to go back to hospital as it kept splitting open. Make sure he keeps up his pain relief, nice warm baths, but mainly plenty of rest. My son, being 3 went back to normal quickly however that caused him more problems and prolonged his recovery.
I wish your son a speedy recovery.

No to trampoline. I do hope he feels better soon. Don;t let him run around. Lots of rest.
